Manila has only a few outdoor activities compared to nearby provinces. Some outdoor activities such as sport recreation facilities require club or group membership. Public sport and recreation facilities are mostly in the university campuses, other activities are hosted in big shopping malls like rock climbing and go-kart racing. Intramuros Golf Club is a public facility located along the fortress wall of the historical Intramuros and is open 24 hours for golf enthusiasts .

The Rizal Park or Luneta, 58 hectares by the bay, is a relaxing oasis for urban Filipinos. Like a magnet, Rizal Park draws in thousands of people everyday that take refuge from a long day work and watch the beautiful sunset over Manila Bay.

Manila has three wildlife sanctuaries, the Manila Zoo, Malabon Zoo and Quezon City Wildlife -the 80 hectare complex of forest area is replete with wildlife and its park is best for strolling. The park is also equipped with picnic groves and a man-made lagoon for boating. These parks are usually open at 8AM 'til 6PM.
